Jose H.Ledo, PhD
Principal Investigator
Before joining CU Boulder, Dr. Ledo served as an Assistant Professor at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC). From 2015 to 2022, he conducted postdoctoral research at The Rockefeller University under the mentorship of Nobel Laureate Paul Greengard. Dr. Ledo’s research focuses on the emerging roles of neuroimmune interactions in regulating synaptic plasticity and memory, with particular interest in how microglial signaling, cellular metabolism, and immunometabolic states shape brain function. His laboratory investigates how disruptions in these pathways contribute to Alzheimer’s disease and other neurodegenerative disorders, with the goal of identifying new mechanisms and therapeutic targets at the interface of neuroscience, immunology, and metabolism.
